The treatise contains eleven full-page copperplate engravings whereby Magni makes recommendations not only about the precise body locations for bloodletting but also about the different positions for all of the people involved in this operation: patient, physician, barber, assistant, and even relatives. They are fairly realistic representations that provide us with an artistic visual testimony of how this procedure took place.
